Students, for obvious reasons, often focus only the upper body when practicing arm balances. After all, you are trying to lift your whole body and balance on your hands. Then you hear a teacher say something along the lines of “it’s all in your core” and you start to expand your focus beyond your upper body.

But that’s not where a skillful arm balance ends. The legs must work tremendously and harmoniously with the rest the of the body to achieve a confident arm balance.

In this variation of Firefly (Tittibhasana), I show you how to use a yoga belt to bring some awareness to the role of the legs.

You can watch the whole class here on Udaya.com, which prepares you for this pose in just 20 minutes. Let me know what you think!
