From Your Head to Your Heart To truly move beyond Stuckat we have to be willing to stretch from stoic and academic to imaginative and visceral. Stepping boldly into solutions requires adventuring into our heart and getting beyond ego. We’ve been taught to prioritize intellect over emotion. Emotion is considered weak while being logical and intelligent is considered to be more valuable. However, we are truly at our best when we have a balance of both. Using backbends in our asana practice we START a somatic shift from over-thinking and tense into the freedom of an open heart. Our Metta (loving-kindness) meditation furthers this shift and our hOMework shows us how to extend this Metta and open heart from our mat into our life.
