When we practice yoga, it is usually an experience about turning inward and exploring our own bodies. In partner yoga, we explore our bodies in a more outward way by communicating with each other. This communication can be verbal or non-verbal, but is the most important part of any partner practice. This specific type of partner yoga, called acro, can be wildly fun and exciting, but it is important that we learn the fundamentals first. This basic tutorial will teach you how to “base” and “fly” each other with a few simple postures involved. This is by no means an exhausting treatise on all of the acro postures, but is a great start to get you going!
