Tradition for tradition’s sake doesn’t serve anyone. Now that yoga has become popularized and we are seeing the results in millions of people, there are some changes that need to be embraced. Vytas will discuss his observations in over 10 years of teaching. This is less of a flow class and more of a discussion session while using the poses to get you to feel what he’s talking about.     Slight bend in knees for done dog freed mind to enjoy posture and not fixate on straight legs…as well as advice on hand position, pointer finger right and left at 1 o’clock and 11 o’clock make down dog less dogmatic (pun intended) and easier for longer holds. Just because it’s traditional done with locked knees in many styles doesn’t mean it’s the only way. Excellent advice to save our bodies for yoga at age 75. Great advice about squatting 30 minutes a day for 30 days to gain strength and flexibility.
